Robotics for inspection applications

Define the task, environment and information needed before choosing a robot.

Inspection is an application, not an industry.

Inspection can sit within industrial, infrastructure or construction work. Start by specifying what must be observed and what result the team needs. A mobile robot is not, on its own, a complete inspection system.

The existing catalogue describes the Compact Quadruped for inspection-related uses. That catalogue description does not establish that it carries the sensors or approvals needed for your task.

01 / Industrial & infrastructure assessment

Stairs & uneven ground

Check the route before choosing an inspection platform.

Explore the use case

Partner demonstrations from MangoBot, not FRWRD deployments. Assessment is required for your site.

Questions to bring to an assessment.

What needs inspecting, and how is it checked today? Where must the system travel? What measurements or images are needed? How should the output reach the team?

Describe terrain, stairs, access, connectivity and interaction with people or machinery. Hazardous-area certification, sensor integration and operating approvals must be established from specific evidence, not inferred from an IP rating.

Evaluate before expanding.

Discuss a pilot with a defined task and success criteria. Agree the system, sensors, responsibilities and limitations before committing.

What happens next

  1. We read your taskTell us what you want to automate, where and why. A few lines is enough to start.
  2. We tell you if it fitsWe say whether a system looks suitable and what would need assessing on your site.
  3. We agree a next stepUsually a scoped pilot or evaluation, with terms confirmed for the specific robot and project.
